Update On England...

 

We are now 24 travelers who will be heading for England April 19th, 2008. We will sing a noontime concert in London on Monday April 21st at Saint James Piccadilly Church, as part of the series "American Celebration of Music in Britain". After a few days of sightseeing, we will head for Braintree, England to sing with our sister chorus there. The Braintree choristers have generously offered to entertain us in their homes. The joint concert will take place on Saturday April 26th and will feature Mendelssohn's "Hymn of Praise", The "Five Mystical Songs" of Ralph Vaughan Williams and "I Was Glad" by Parry. This program will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the English choir and is the same program they performed at their first concert in 1968. We are looking forward to meeting our hosts and singing with them! Then we return to sing our spring concert here in May.
