Charles Dillingham did his undergraduate work in Music Education at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA, and has done graduate work at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago and Berklee College of Music in Boston.

 

He recently retired from teaching after 35 years as a music specialist in the Braintree Public Schools where he taught elementary, middle school, and high school choral and instrumental music. For the last 17 years he has been the Minister of Music and Worship at Community Covenant Church in East Bridgewater, MA where he directs the Sanctuary Choir and leads the worship services.  He is also the Music Director and organist at St. Nicholas of Myra Roman Catholic Church in North Dighton, MA. In the summer he directs the Harmony Youth Chorus at the First Baptist Church of Wollaston in Quincy, MA.  Formerly, he was Music Director at Trinity Baptist Church in Brockton, MA where he served for 20 years. While in college, he was student conductor for the A Cappella Choir and the teaching assistant for the Women’s Concert Choir. As a young musician just out of college, he conducted the award winning Wollaston Men’s Glee Club for several seasons. He has been directing the Braintree Choral Society for the past 4 years.

 

Mr. Dillingham plays the piano, organ, clarinet and saxophone. He has performed vocally with the sacred music ensemble, Inspiration, and the Braintree Choral Society. While at Eastern Nazarene, he was a member of the Choral Union, the A Cappella Choir, and the concert band. He studied under Robert E. Brown, J. Greg Larkin, Michael Rendish and internationally acclaimed composer and conductor, John Rutter.  

 

He is an active member of NAfME, the National Association for Music Education, and ACDA, the American Choral Director’s Association. He is listed in Who’s Who Among American Educators and Who’s Who Among American Professionals.
